Interview Summary

In the interview Grant Pugh explains that wearable RFID systems are particularly useful in the harsh outdoor environment where they offer superior performance than barcode labels. For them to be effective, they must be lightweight, reliable and have no impact on the way the security guard works.

RFID Security Application

He also presents an interesting RFID application for the Security Industry. The main feature is that security companies can make sure that patrol guards are performing their job properly. The guard scans the tagged locations and high value assets as he passes them. The information is relayed back to the security agency with a time stamp. Additionally, information is also written back to the tag for an audit trail. The customer can then read it and compare this information to the records provided by the security agency. The application aims to resolve disputes with customers and increase the level of compliance for the service contract.

Hi, my name is Robert Govier and I work for Johnson Controls Fire and Security Solutions in the UK.

I have a customer which has a Johnson Controls Pegasys 2000 Access Management System installed and operates on Diester Mifare Cards and readers.

My customer wants to be able to record card transactions via a mobile reader and then download the record into the Pegasys System to enable them to print the attendence of personnel at that location for that particular period.

Does your company have a Handheld device that will enable us to provide this facility.

If so what is the availability and cost????
